Step 3: Loosen the Idle Control Motor Locate the idle control motor mounted on the engine block, near the intake manifold (85.5 Onwards). Using a 13mm (1/2 inch) wrench, loosen the bolt securing the idle control motor to its mounting bracket. Step 4: Disconnect the Left-Side Hose Locate the hose connected to the intake boot (left side) of the idle control motor. Using a screwdriver, loosen the hose clamp and carefully remove the hose from the idle control motor. Step 5: Disconnect the Electrical Connector Locate the electrical connector attached to the idle control motor. Gently unplug the electrical connector, checking for any signs of damaged or frayed wiring. Step 6: Remove the Idle Control Motor Slide the idle control motor out of its mounting bracket, keeping the right-side hose attached for now (85.5 Onwards). Step 8: Install the New Idle Control Motor Slide the new idle control motor into the mounting bracket while reattaching the left-side hose to the intake boot (85.5 Onwards). Using a screwdriver, tighten the hose clamps on both the left-side and right-side hoses to secure them. Using a 13mm (1/2 inch) wrench, tighten the mounting bracket bolt to secure the idle control motor. Torque to 20 Nm (15 ft-lbs). For 85.5 Onwards models replacing rubber mounts: Place the mounting bracket onto the new rubber mounts (999 703 139 00). Tighten the nuts on the rubber mounts to secure the bracket. Torque to 10 Nm (7.4 ft-lbs). Step 9: Reattach the Electrical Connector Reconnect the electrical connector to the new idle control motor, ensuring a secure connection.
