The groove for the snap ring is 7mm from the sealing surface. Install the snap ring into the water pump housing using 45° angle snap ring pliers. Orient the snap ring holes toward the top or bottom of the housing for easier future removal. Step 5: Reassemble the Cooling System Reinstall the cooling hose from the water pump to the radiator, securing it with the hose clamp using a flat tip screwdriver.
